Reliability, Maintenance,
Energy & Environment
An iPresentation
by Howard W Penrose, Ph.D., CMRP SUCCESS by DESIGN
In these days of renewed
interest in energy conservation and environmental consciousness
we ask ourselves what we can do to have an impact. In the 1990s,
significant work was implemented in the concepts of the
relationship between reliability, maintenance, energy,
environment and waste-stream, which is now considered part of
‘environment.’ It led to the understanding that the R&M function
can have the single most significant and cost effective impact
on energy and environment, and that each of the efforts is
directly related to each other, in addition to their individual
impact on capacity and productivity.
In this 11 minute
iPresentation, we will introduce you to the concept of
Reliability, Maintenance, Energy & Environment and how to relate
some of the aspects in order to assist you in providing
supporting information for business decisions. Additional
information and tools for the application of Reliability,
Maintenance, Energy & Environment will be available during the
‘Save Energy
– A 3-Part Workshop on Becoming a Greener,
Leaner Company,’ at PdM-2008
